Good, but after this cup of tea I must feel great, whee!

When is your bed time, and when do you get up?

Monday through Thursday I’m in bed anywhere between 10 and midnight; Fridays and Saturdays I’ll stay up a little later. as for mornings, every one except Sunday, which is my day to sleep late (’tis glorious!), the alarm goes off bright and early at 6:30.

What are you a lot of looking forward to this week?

Dinner in San Francisco with my friends Jen and Cindy, but that’s a ways away on Saturday. We’re having Peruvian food, yum!

If you have any roommates, what are they like? Do you people get along?

I live with El Hub the boy, Tabs the cat and Sushi the fish (a betta). El Hub’s pretty easy to live with — Tabs, not so much. He’s a total diva. Sushi, El Hub’s ward, is hella aggro. He’s like that roommate you lived with but hoped you’d never see.

Do you make your bed every morning?

Most of the time, and if I don’t it bugs me for the rest of the day.

On Saturday I checked out the legion of honor museum in SF to check out an exhibit on the Impressionists. That reminds me — the tickets were on sale, 30% off through the TravelZoo weekly mailing list. I highly recommend subscribing. best travel and enjoyment deals (even sporting events) I’ve ever used.

Then on Sunday I spent a couple of hours writing and blogging before enjoying Predators in the afternoon.

Do you ever let dishes sit in the sink for a lot more than a day?

Yaparım. I try to rinse them off ideal away though.

Favorite place for lunch?

It costs a king’s ransom, but I love the salad bar at whole Foods. Everything’s always so fresh, and they have a huge selection of things a lot of salad bars don’t like hummus, sushi and edamame. I vow my body goes “Ahhh” after every visit.

Outfit:

Skinny jeans that stretch a bit (I practically live in ’em) and a white tank top with braided rope detailing on the straps.

Haftalık Hedefler:

To run at least three miles at least four times this week, to prepare two vegetarian dinners, to spend a full 20 minutes every day playing catch-up with my email.

Good mornin’, ladies. I’m sitting here at my desk sipping my morning tea and thinking about this odd dream I had last night…

I was back in high school, graduation day, and for some reason I didn’t have a cap and gown for the ceremony. When I found a gown at the last minute (no cap, though), it was thoroughly wrinkled.

Instead of just throwing it on and sprinting to my seat, I desperately tried to iron it first in the school counselor’s office. moments before the MC was set to call my name on the stage, the alarm shook me awake!

One thing Is Clear: The Smashbox unlimited long wear Lip Glosses In Bloom

Can I just vent about my bangs for a moment? because today they interfered with Smashbox’s spring In Bloom unlimited long wear Lip Glosses, and that’s just wrong.

Observe the redonkulous headband in the picture above, which I’ve resorted to wearing on account of my unruly bangs. ever because I got them trimmed last week, they’ve been incredibly uncooperative, jutting out at strange angles and typically behaving badly. The headband keeps them under wraps, but it also kinda steals this sheer gloss’s thunder.

The two cuties below ($21 for each 0.1-oz tube) are part of the recently released Smashbox In Bloom collection for spring (a limited edition affair), and while the collection’s springy floral theme hasn’t exactly revolutionized my concept of spring makeup, I’ve liked the products I’ve seen so far.

Shimmery coral unlimited Kiss and shimmery pink timeless come in the same long-wearing unlimited Lip Gloss formula Smashbox launched back in 2009.

I’ve always liked the unlimited line. They remind me of thicker, stickier, slightly less expensive ($21 vs. $27) versions of the Chanel Aqualumieres (NOTE: I have it on good authority that Chanel is phasing out the Aqualumieres to focus on the also amazing Rouge allure Extrait de Glosses).

When I swatched these and the rest of In grow a couple of weeks ago, they looked very pigmented and dense on the back of my hand.

On my lips, however, both glosses look practically transparent. I probably, ya know, ought to have expected that based on the unlimited Lip Glosses I’ve worn in the past, which varied from sheer to medium pigmentation, but still. I was hoping for a little much more color.

Oh, remember the two lip glosses from the new Smashbox style files kit? Well, these could be their twins, which could be good or bad, depending on your point of view.

I haven’t worn any of the other unlimited long wears in a while, but these two last just as long as I remember — a solid four hours, which is terrific for a gloss. Both are unscented but do have a light vanilla flavor, and the finish? Ölmek. I think the high shine gives my lips that pouty look that draws a lot of attention to them (but not enough to overpower that goofy headband!).

And kudos to Smashbox for 1) adding SPF 15 and 2) using such a thin doe-foot applicator. I find it easy to navigate into corners and around my cupid’s bow.

I would have liked a little much more pigment…or possibly a few dollars deducted in exchange, but I still like these unlimited ladies and plan to include them in my spring rotation. Their sheerness just makes them so easy to use.

If you’ve been searching for a basic, long-wearing gloss with loads of shine, these might be your girls.

A quick phone call would’ve sufficed…

Life is filled with lessons we learn along the way. Some we learn from others, like our friends and family, or the people on shot at love with Tila Tequila… and some we find out on our own.

1. Someday, I would love my curly hair

Coming from a family of straight-haired lads and lasses, I felt cursed by my wavy hair as a girl growing up in the ’80s and ’90s.

I spent a good chunk of my youth combating against my natural hair and did just about everything the curly hair experts caution against.

Curly styling product options were much more limited back then (I can’t think of anything other than L’Oreal Pumping Curls), but after college, years of experimentation and several bad haircuts, I grew to love my natural hair.

I’m thankful I came around, too, because now there are entire haircare lines devoted to wavy/curly hair. SÜPER!

2. change is a constant; kucakla

Everything is short-term — the good stuff and the bad. instead of combating every form of change, accept that it’s a part of life and make the most of every curve ball that comes your way.

3. Hobbies can transform your life

Hobbies make learning fun! They can challenge the mind, reinforce our self-esteem and help get our creative juices flowing. two of mine — blogging and surfing — even changed my life.

I grew up terrified of the ocean and wanting to write but not having an outlet. Today, I’m comfortable in the water and share my words with you every day.

Other things I’d like to try: martial arts and wedding photography.

4. no one told me when I’d feel like an adult

In my twenties and early-thirties, I felt like a kid playing in an adult world. I mean, I did the things that “real” grownups do — like going to work and paying bills — but I didn’t think of myself as an adult.

Then, two things happened: 1) my mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer and 2) my best friend’s dad passed away. My world shifted, and concepts like time, family, friendship and love took on new meaning. BAM! I think I’m an adult.

5. You really can do what you love for a living

Growing up as a first-generation American in an old-school Filipino immigrant family, my parents made some things very clear to me, among them, profession options. Mine were limited to medicine, law, engineering and nursing.

Without overstating the obvious, there’s much more to life than that!

Today I earn my living blogging (through the ads you see on the site) and freelance writing for magazines. Of course, my parents still don’t understand what I do (or they refuse to acknowledge it), but such is life!

6. The addictive nature of Nutella

‘Nuff said.

7. You’ll get body hair in…places

I anticipated the chin and upper lip hair, but no one cautioned ME about the thick, wiry toe and boob hair (don’t you act like you don’t know what I’m talking about).

8. people aren’t mind readers

Your friends and family aren’t going to know how you feel unless you tell them. It’s as easy as that.

I’ve always been pretty good about expressing how I feel in print, but I’m less confident when it concerns face-to-face interaction (especially when I’m upset or mad). Üzerinde çalışıyorum.
