You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”

Something that saves you time when you’re getting ready in the morning?
Curling my hair and/or doing a blowout early on Monday morning, which normally takes me about a half an hour, so that all I have to do the rest of the week is touch up my roots with a little dry shampoo (I’m really lovin’ this one from Living Proof, BTW) and swiftly brush it through.

Saves me a ton of time to not have to style my hair on a daily basis. Plus, in that weirdly icky, ironic hair way, I think my hair looks better as it gets grungier throughout the week.

Cheesecake or pie?
Pie all day, every day, son! Please make mine pecan with a big scoop of whipped cream on top. thank you kindly.

Would you rather read a romance, or a mystery?
Hmm… OK, how about a young adult romantic mystery??

ÇOK KOMİK! but seriously, probably a mystery, but it’s gotta be lighthearted and fun. I can’t get into books that are too heavy or severe these days.

I think he may have choked for minute, but he seems ok now.

When was the last time you wore a uniform?
If we’re defining “uniform” in the strictest sense of the word, then it was probably my band uniform back in high school, and good despair that thing was hideous! Ruffles and a huge, ill-fitting bucket hat just ain’t cute.

But if we’re using the looser, a lot more normal definition of “uniform,” then it was probably about eight or nine years ago when I worked as a legal assistant in a tall building in downtown SF.

I pretty much wore a slightly different version of the same thing each day — black pants, black shirt, black shoes.

Eh, it was easy, and I didn’t want to think too hard.

Good morning, sweet friend! It’s a stormy day here in northern California.

Wanna hear something kind of random…? I just observed that I can’t sit as close to my desk as I used to because of baby girl and my tum.

Yup, and my keyboard feels so far away… LOL! I know I keep saying this, but that’s because I’m regularly shocked: baby girl is getting ginormous! I was staring at my stomach the other night, and she kicked so hard that I actually saw the skin move.

It was both delightful and freaky at the same time.

In other random news, I made a loaf of banana bread last night, and it’s already nearly gone. El Hub and I tore into that thing with a fierceness!

The recipe came from MBB reader Rachel R.’s hubby (thank you very much, you guys!), and it was effing deliciously light, cake-like and moist. thank you again, Rachel, for sharing it!

Rachel R.’s Hubby’s Banana Bread

* start with all ingredients at room temperature, 68-70 degrees F. put rack on lower third of the oven. preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8.5″ x 4.5″ (6-cup) loaf pan.

* Thoroughly whisk together the following ingredients in a bowl:
1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
¼ tsp. tuz
½ tsp. karbonat
¼ tsp. kabartma tozu
½ tsp. Tarçın
¼ tsp. taze rendelenmiş Hindistan cevizi

* In a large bowl, beat on high speed until lightened in color and texture, around 2-3 minutes:
6 Tbsp. softened unsalted butter
1/3 c. toz şeker
1/3 c. açık kahverengi şeker
Beat in the flour mixture, adding a little at a time until blended and the consistency of brown sugar.

* gradually beat in until combined:
2 large eggs, lightly beaten

* Fold in until just combined:
1 c. mashed, very ripe bananas (about 2 average-sized bananas)
½ c. coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional). You can also add in a 1/2 c. of chocolate chips, if you like.

* Scrape the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 50-60 mins. let amazing in the pan, on a rack, for 5-10 mins. Un-mold and let amazing completely on the rack.

I have a horrible habit of only wearing browny/goldy/bronzey eyeshadow.

I’m kind of a one-trick pony when it comes to that.

But it’s good to break out of your routine every now and then, so I decided to try using some mauve and taupe shades, and I loved it!

Obviously, I’ve used mauve and taupe before, but I just forgot how pretty they can look! I was super happy with how this look turned out, so I thought I would document it and share the products I used.

NARS sheer glow foundation has crawled its way back into my heart. I always do this — I rediscover things and wonder why on earth I ever stopped using them! sheer glow gives such a flawless look to the skin without looking like heavy makeup.

Under my eyes, I used urban Decay naked Skin Concealer, of course, because it’s the only concealer I ever use these days. It’s literally the best concealer I’ve ever used.

I’m pretty sure I’ve blabbed about it a lot before, so I’ll keep it short today. It’s lightweight, lovely and covers everything I need it to without going cakey. I use it to conceal under my eyes and to highlight my cheekbones, nose, chin and center of my forehead.

Because I am so ghostly white at the moment, bronzer is a definite necessity to keep me from looking dead these days. There’s a lot of bronzers that I love to use, but benefit Hoola has to be one of my favorites. I love that its matte and pigmented and adds natural-looking color to the skin. I dust it all over the high points of my face with a big fluffy brush to mimic a tan, and I also contour a little with it as well.

All of you listen up! — there is no reason that you should not own Milani Baked blush in Luminoso. It’s uh-may-zing. The color is perfect, and so is the glowy finish. It goes on smoothly and looks like a dream.

When my mom asked for a blush recommendation, this is the one I got for her. I think it looks fresh and perfect on everyone! For this look I dusted it on the apples of my cheeks and back towards my temples to brighten everything up a bit.

I’ve been going a little highlighter crazy lately because I’m one of those people who loves to look like she’s bathed in highlighter. My favorite products for doing that have been anything from Becca. Today I used Becca’s champagne Pop. It’s a gorgeous champagne color (obviously) with golden undertones. I used a fan brush to dust it all over the tops of my cheekbones and pretty much the rest of my face as well.

Like I mentioned at the start, today’s eyes were all about mauves and taupes for me, so I decided to go with my well-loved Lorac pro Palette.

Using a blending brush, I buffed the shade called Mauve all over my lid and up into my crease, and I went in with several layers to make sure everything was blended and opaque.

Next, using the same brush, I put Pewter on the outer half of the lid and into the outer corners, and also buffed it into the lower lashline. That’s all I did, and I think it [turned out to be] a super pretty eye look! Obviously, I also added winged liner, because it wouldn’t be a normal day if I hadn’t!

Since letting my eyelash extensions fall out, I’ve been having some fun playing around with mascara again. My champion mascara has been too faced better Than Sex Mascara, which was brought back out. It’s just so great at giving you massive lashes without any clumping.

Because it’s sort of a shock going from eyelash extensions back to your normal lashes, I also put on some individual false lashes, so I didn’t feel quite as sad about it.

I’m thankful I tried something new today. It put me back in the mood to play around more with my makeup! So long, makeup rut!
